Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2 is the sequel of the popular MMORPG Guild Wars. The new game will feature new game-engine, changes in character development and better PVP system. It will emphasize more on the massively multiplayer part. Guild Wars 1 was pretty good game so I think Guild Wars 2 will be a hit.

Rift
Rift is a fantasy MMORPG that looks very promising. Its release date is just few days from now so I’m very excited! I'll write more later.

The Exiled Realm of Arborea
The Exiled Realm of Arborea or Tera Online is another promising MMORPG game that will be released this year. It will be somewhat unique with its non-targeted PVP system. Really this click to select and then attack system was getting very boring.

Star Wars: The Old Republic
Star Wars: The Old Republic is an upcoming sci-fi, mmo game based in the Star Wars universe.

Digimon Battle – upcoming Digimon MMO game

New Digimon MMO is coming soon! Digimon Battle is the new title, announced by WeMade Entertainment.

World of Tanks – new PVP oriented MMO game

World of Tanks is new MMO action game announced just recently by WARGAMING.NET. The game would be focused mainly on PVP battles with wide range of modes like quick random battles, mini-missions, clan wars and more.
World of Tanks is promised to be free to play so I presume many people will try it. The game will feature variety of tank models from different historical events and countries.
Tiger tank, Soviet T-34, American 155mm M40 Gun Motor Carriage are some of the models mentioned on the press release.

Tales of Fantasy - upcoming MMORPG

Tales of Fantasy is new, 3D MMORPG published by IGG. The game will offer many mounts and the ability to tame wild monsters. Characters will be able to obtain wings and fly as there is story about it in the teaser website.

Players will be able to fight while riding different creatures, even mount change can be possible in the middle of the battle.
Players will be able to craft and enchant their equipment and create unique weapons and items.

NEO Online or New Era Odyssey Online is a new fantasy MMORPG with many cool features. Its official closed beta is scheduled for February, 8th, so I look forward to try it and share my experience with you.

What I know about the game till now is that it offers great character development freedom, as any character can learn any skill as long as it has enough skill points. So you can have a sword-waving mage or a healing warrior.

The game will offer plenty of quests – from the important main story quests to minor and part-time quests. You can decide to share or not your quests with your party – it’s the first game I’ve ever seen with this option explicitly available in the interface.

PVP and PK
You can try your skill in a usual duel mode or choose to become a criminal (PK mode). Your character needs to be level 20 or above to be in a PK mode or to be PKed by other players so rest assured, on one will kill you until you feel good enough to fight back. .
The game offers three types of mass PVP – group battles, guild battles and territorial wars.

Aika, finally some good news

Few days ago GPotato announced Aika’s closed beta is going to run from 3rd February to 9th February. More information about the closed beta can be found on the official website of the game http://aika.gpotato.com/.
The test will feature all 6 classes, 5 nations and 30 levels of character development.

Actually so many facts and rumors are spreading on the net that I can’t wait to try this game. I wonder why GPotato haven’t made it available yet. Aika is played in Korea for more than two years. I’ve heard that it has several gaming awards there.

In case you don’t know, Aika is beautiful, fantasy MMORPG that greatly emphasize on PVP or more likely RVR (Realm vs Realm) battles. The information about the game on the official site is too little and I don’t know Korean to learn more from their sites.

Edit: There is some fun information about the game on the official forum. And many, many fans. The community seems big and nice.

Battle of the Immortals is the new, action MMORPG by Perfect World Entertainment. PWE created quite a buzz with releasing only bits of information and teasing the gamers’ world.

Altis Gates - upcoming MMORPG game

Altis Gates is a turn-based 2.5D MMORPG published by IGG. The game features a fantasy world, influenced by the European mythology.
The game promises many fun features like shape-shifting, pets, marriage system, guilds, formation system and so on.
Altis Gates alpha testing is scheduled for this month and will run from 19th January to 22nd January.

Short list of upcoming games I want to play in 2010

With so many games under development gamers won’t be bored this year. I made a short list of games, coming out in 2010.

Aika
Aika is a 3D, fantasy MMORPG, published by GPotato. The game was announced for December but nothing happened. I’ve heard and read only rumors, but it is going to be PvP or RvR oriented MMORPG and I really want more random and mass PVP in the games I play. It looks similar to Lineage 2 and Aion but I can’t tell if it is as good as them without playing.


Kung Foo!
Perfect World Entertainment grabbed the gaming world attention with this parody MMORPG.
Are they serious? It may be only my curiosity but I want to try this game.


Mabinogi Heroes
Another good, Korean title. It is a fast-paced, action, real-time MMO with some features from its predecessor Mabinogi. Mabinogi Heroes will be room oriented like Rakion.


Heroes of Telara
Fantasy MMORPG, by Trion World Network. It looks promising on the trailers.


Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2 is a fantasy MMORPG by ArenaNet and a sequel of Guild Wars MMORPG.


Priston Tale 2
It is 3D MMORPG game published by Suba Games. The game will pay special attention to the PVP battles.


Star Trek Online

James Cameron's Avatar: The Game

James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is an upcoming video game by Ubisoft. The game is an adaptation of James Cameron's film Avatar. Less is known about the game. I haven't met even what genre it would be. On the other hand Ubisoft announced that they are using the same 3D technology as the film. Some of the characters in the game would be voiced by the respective actors from the film. The game will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC(Windows) and PlayStation Portable.

The film: James Cameron's Avatar is an upcoming 3D fiction film.It's going to be released on 18 December this year.
